Transformed Into His Likeness: Overcoming Sinful Habits, Thoughts, and Tendencies

Taught By: Armand Tiffe

Do you desire to become more Christ-like?  Do you sometimes wonder if it’s possible to change areas in your life that you know are not pleasing to God?  Would you like to learn how to help other believers who are struggling in their spiritual walk with God?

As Christians, we are called to grow in Christ-likeness (i.e., progress in sanctification). Unfortunately, many of us experience frustration in our spiritual walk because we do not understand how God intends for us to overcome sinful habits and practices.  Consequently, our lives are unstable, our spiritual growth sporadic, and our attempts to help others grow in their faith is often ineffective.

This seminar will provide a clear explanation, from Scripture, of how God has designed the transformation process to take place in a Christian’s everyday life—i.e., how we overcome deeply ingrained habits, thoughts, and tendencies that stifle any spiritual progress.  It will get to the heart of what needs to take place for genuine growth and lastly change to take place.  Also, those who have a heart for helping others, or those whose ministry involves discipling or counseling, and parents seeking to raise godly children will find this seminar very helpful and pertinent.

Each seminar attendee will receive a copy of the book, Transformed Into His Likeness: A Handbook For Putting Off Sin and Putting on Righteousness.  You will learn how to utilize this helpful resource for your spiritual life, and for leading others along the path of spiritual growth.

Finding Rest in the Midst of Life’s Difficulties

Taught By: Kathy Tiffe

  • This is a 3-hour/3-session seminar/retreat for women.

Jesus says to us in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Yes, He really says, “Rest!” But what does He mean? Is it really possible to experience rest in our everyday live, and even more so, when life becomes filled with a variety of trials and disappointments? You will find both strength and encouragement as we learn how to surrender our lives to Christ, come to understand some of His good purposes for our trials, and gain practical direction for maintaining a daily walk that promotes daily rest in Him.

Pastors and Wives Retreat: Reflecting on Ministry, Marriage, and Family

Taught By: Armand and Kathy Tiffe

After Armand’s retirement from the senior pastor role, we were asked to share at an EFCA Pastors and Wives Retreat what we have learned from experience after 33 years of full-time local church ministry—the last 26 years as senior pastor of the same church.  It was very well received by pastors and wives.

In this weekend retreat, we share ten ways God enabled us through the ups and downs of church ministry, and how He taught us to blend ministry, marriage, and family.  It is both instructive and encouraging, especially for pastors and wives who are wanting to learn how to endure the ups and downs that church life brings in ways that honor the Lord.
